Biography
George Perry is a neuroscientist recognized in the field of Alzheimer's disease research particularly for his work in oxidative stress. Dr. Perry has studied at many universities and holds multiple degrees including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from the University of California Santa Barbara and a PhD in Marine Biology from the University of California at San Diego. He is distinguished as one of the top Alzheimer’s disease researchers with over 1000 publications, more than 60,000 citations, one of the top 100 most-cited scientists in Neuroscience & Behavior and one of the top 25 scientists in free radical research. Dr. Perry is a Semmes Foundation Distinguished chair in Neurobiology and is an active participant in many other scientific associations. In addition, Perry is an Editor of numerous scientific journals including Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease which he founded in 1998. Today, Perry continues his love for research while working as Dean of the College of Sciences at The University of Texas at San Antonio.
Research Interest
His research is centered around Neurodegeneration. In particular, Dr. Perry focuses mostly on Alzheimer’s disease and the effects of oxidative stress on the disease as well as its effects on other neurodegenerative disorders.
Biography
After his PhD (1991) at Tirana University, in the topic of Ion-Selective-Electrodes (ISEs) designs and applications in clinical and environmental analysis, Dr. Merkoçi worked as postdoc at other European research centres and USA in the field of nanobiosensors and lab-on-a-chip technologies. His postdoc periods were followed by leading positions in several laboratories: (1997-2006) at Autonomous University of Barcelona and since 2006 in ICN2.He has published around 200 peer review research papers, is editor of books.Prof. Merkoçi serves also as scientific evaluator and member of panels of experts of various international governmental and nongovernmental agencies (FP EU, USA, various EU and other countries), member of scientific committee of various international congresses, director of several workshops and other scientific events and have been invited to give plenary lectures and keynote speeches in more than 80 occasions in various countries.

His research is focused on the design and application of cutting edge nanotechnology and nanoscience based biosensors.
Biography
Mr. Hitesh Shah has a Masters degree in Pharmacology and Diploma in Pharmacoeconomics with more than 15 years of rich experience in various facets of Pharmaceutical fields including BA/BE studies, Pre-clinical studies, Clinical Trials, Formulation and Regulatory Affairs. He has conducted more than 500 Pharmacokinetics studies with various study designs. He has successfully faced regulatory inspections from DCGI - India, UK MHRA, US FDA, EMA, ANVISA- Brazil, WHO, MCC- South Africa, MoH-Turkey and Israel- MOH. He has worked previously with Wellquest Clinical Research Organization, Macleods BA/BE centre, DIL Group (formerly duphar –Interfran Ltd.) and DMRI. He has international publications to his credit.
