Obtained successively the MSc (1994) and PhD (1997) degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Cairo University, Egypt. He was a visiting scholar in 2002 at the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. In 2003 and 2005 he was a postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Pharamcogenetics Research Institute, Central South University, ChangSha, China and the Pharmacogenetics Research Center, Inje University College of Medicine, Busan, Republic of Korea, respectively. He was a visiting Professor from 2005 to 2007 at the Natural Products Chemistry Laboratory, Chonnam National University, Gwangju, Republic of Korea, and Foreign Assistant Professor at the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Konkuk University, Seoul, Republic of Korea. In 2009 he was appointed as full-time Professor at the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt. Presented several communications at national and international congresses, and published more than 140 articles in international peer reviewed journals. He received in 2009 an award of the Cairo University for the best scientist in Basic Sciences, and in 2011 the National Incentive Reward for Biotechnology and Agricultural Sciences and the Publication Award from Misr El-Khair foundation. In 2013; he became a Brain Pool Fellow at Biotechnology Research Center, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Chonnam National University, Gwangju, Republic of Korea. He is among the board members of several Journals; among them Biomedical Chromatography. He serves the Journal of Advanced Research, the official Journal of Cairo University, as a Managing as well as Associate Editor.
His field of interest is biomedical analysis.
